In my junior year at Florida International University, I made the decision to become a member of the Global Learning Living Program. I interacted with a lot of the people that were in this program and we discussed various ideas on how to better the world. For example, every month we would have a cultural dinner and we would learn about the cultures of different countries. This way, I also learned the different poltical issues that other countries are currently facing. For example, Syrian refugees tried to find asylum in the United States, but unfortunately, the current president did not allow Syrian refugees to come into the United States. Last but not least, during the cultural dinners, I had to interact with my classmates, make dishes, and make a presentation based on the country that we were given. This allowed me to further work as a team and build stronger relationships.
